On April 9th Peter Hägg received a medal at a ceremony at the Riddarhuset in Stockholm. Kungliga Patriotiska Sällskapets medalj (Royal Patriotic Society Medal) is an award for outstanding entrepreneurship.

Enterprise medal was presented by Princess Désirée.

Each year the medal assign ten persons with ownership influence created and developed businesses - and thus working for a better Sweden, which the Society has done since 1772, when Gustav III wrote under the statute. The purpose of the medal is to honor the recipient of a long-term meaningful work, and to inspire others.

The motivation reads
Peter Hägg has for nearly 20 years, developed the family business SOMAS Instrument AB. During these years, the number of employees more than doubled and turnover has multiplied. SOMAS was founded by his grandfather of cutlery manufacturing. Peter´s father changed focus to the valves for the process industry, ie pulp and paper mills in Värmland. Nowdays valves are manufactured  to the shipping industry, steam and gas turbines on the international market.
